Meet the guy behind Kansas Chocolate Festival

Zach Haney loves to plan events and he doesn't mind working them, but he does wish he could take a step back and attend the 2019 Kansas Chocolate Festival, Saturday, June 15, in Downtown Topeka.

"I love what I do and I don't mind working Kansas KidsFest or Cider Days, but the Kansas Chocolate Festival is one of those events I wish I could just attend and enjoy the festivities."

Buzz Events announced earlier this year that they would be taking over the management of the festival from Visit Topeka. Haney founded Buzz Events in earlier 2018, but he's been planning events since the age of fourteen.

The 2019, Kansas Chocolate Festival will feature new vendors and an indoor portion which will take place inside Topeka Performing Arts Center's Hill's Festival Hall. This is also where guests can participate in the chocolate baking competition. One can register on the official website for the Kansas Chocolate Festival at topekachocolate.com.

"We had a short turnaround time for this festival. We took over about four months before the event date which required some fast planning. Needless to say, the event will be awesome and we have already added some new additions like a beer and wine tent," Haney said. "We are working with a local brewery to feature some chocolate inspired beers."
