Internship Description
 

BuzzEvents. is seeking a Public Relations and Events Management Intern for its annual events, who is full of creative ideas and eager to apply skills learned in the classroom. The intern will gain visibility into the inner workings and aspects of the public relations field, provide concrete deliverables and learn in a hands-on environment. The intern must be able to work quickly, efficiently and without much supervision. This internship is for Summer 2019 during the months of May through August. This is a non-paid internship.

Responsibilities

  • Fully support the PR strategy and execute it in different phases

  • Create engaging digital content for both digital and print publications

  • Communicate and build relationships with current or prospect clients/vendors

  • Effectively utilize social media pages to publicize event

  • Create and distribute marketing materials and press releases

  • Assist in administrative duties related to PR

  • Build and update media lists and other databases

  • Attend publicity/marketing meetings

  • Perform research and run reports on PR platforms


Requirements

  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive

  • Solid understanding of the different social networks

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency at typing and using a computer

  • Proficiency at Microsoft Office, Google Drive and other basic software and cloud-based platforms

  • Passion for the PR industry and its best practices

  • A copy of your resume, which should include many or all the following: other internships, certifications, work experience, related clubs and organizations, current major course of study, expected graduation date and extracurricular activities.

  • Cover letter, which should include:

    • A personal introduction

    • How your classroom or other experiences would be best used during the internship program

    • Statement verifying eligibility to receive school credit for internship

    • Your schools beginning and end dates for the semester during which you wish to intern

    • Days and times available during internship period
